Explore New Markets To Drive Sustainable Growth

Overview

A young FinTech business offers aggregated financial data analysis to SMEs, helping them to access better, more insightful and more impactful information to inform their business decisions.

Its founder approached Daedalus seeking assistance in enriching its dataset and developing systems to help automate product delivery, with a view to product development and market expansion.

Thanks to us, he achieved more than that - we identified an entirely new target market for the product, with a more tailored, focused business proposition which is already driving customer acquisition and business growth.

What Daedalus did

We worked closely with the founder to help determine what they really wanted from the business - and whether the traditional founder track and route to VC investment was really for them.

Acted as partner and mentor : Beyond that, we acted as a partner and mentor as they investigated a potential new market - and with the business pivot which has opened up entirely new revenue streams for the business.

How we did it

01

Undertook a comprehensive audit of the commercial positioning of the business - its product, its market, its performance.

02

Delivered hands-on, one-to-one coaching and mentoring to the founder on various aspects of business management, including sales and marketing support.

03

Undertook a comprehensive fundraising review and offered detailed advice on in-flight fundraising conversations.

04

Acted as a fractional CTO for 3 months, advising on third-party technology vendor selection, defined new market segmentation and business proposition, new build partners, suppliers and project managers.

What this achieved

01

Had secured letters of intent from a significant business network within their target market.

02

Had secured an additional investment round.

03

Had developed a more achievable business and exit plan which was a better reflection of their goals and ambitions and which didn’t rely on significant VC investment.
